I’m not sure why, but an educated guess would be: 1) you aren’t chewing, so you got to skip the first step in the digestive process yet you become miraculously full, making them seem more scientific; and 2) the ingredients are perfectly measured. Measuring calories is the key to success with diet goals; and 3) convenience–consuming a shake is faster than eating, which is perfect for busy on-the-go people.
