What if I told you it was possible to have a banana split that was actually GOOD for you? Guess what—it is possible! It’s also pretty easy too. We will also be making our own chocolate syrup that is entirely sugar-free, ridiculously easy to make, and super yummy too! Can this day get any better? Well, maybe it can—perhaps a hole in the ceiling will open up and few million dollars, a pair of unicorns, a rainbow, and a calorie-free pizza will mysteriously drop into my living room.
You will see an ingredient on the ingredients list called guar gum—this is a natural thickener commonly used in small amounts to thicken ice cream and other food products. You can find this in a supermarket baking section, a health food store, or online.
This childhood favorite can actually be a muscle-building health food. I’m going to wait for a minute and let that sink in. Okay, are you ready? Here goes:
Ingredients:
- ¾ scoop vanilla EFX Sports Pure Whey
- 1 ripe banana
- ¼ cup Greek yogurt
- 1 tsp. guar gum
- 1 packet or tsp. stevia sweetener (optional)
Syrup:
- ½ serving chocolate EFX Sports Protein 6
- 1 tbsp. water
Directions:
Now for the syrup—you can use sugar-free chocolate syrup but the syrup we will be making here tastes a lot better, is better for you, and is super easy to make. It’s important that you use chocolate Protein 6 because it’s very thick when you add a tiny bit of water and mix. Do this in a small bowl or glass adding a few drops of water at a time until it looks to be the desired consistency. You can also use vanilla Protein 6 if you don’t have chocolate and add a teaspoon to a tablespoon of cocoa powder. Take the other half of the banana and cut it long-ways down the center. Scoop the ice cream onto it, drizzle the syrup and you’re instantly transported back to your childhood!!
