Citrus Intra Blast

Here’s a delicious citrus-flavored idea to keep you fueled throughout your workout! If you are having a particularly long and grueling workout, this will help prevent you from hitting the wall or losing your precious muscle mass. Long distance runners, bikers, joggers, swimmers, and skiers rejoice! So mix up a shaker, and take it with you.

Why these two particular supplements? When you are exercising, the blood is diverted away from the stomach and to the working muscles. Freeform branched chain amino acids (BCAAs) don’t need to be digested—they bypass the liver and go straight into the bloodstream. Ingested BCAAs can be used by the body for energy, instead of the body breaking down valuable muscle tissue to get them. They help spare your muscle, as well as reduce muscle soreness (yay!), plus improve training motivation as you get to the end of your training session. You will notice the difference after a week or so.

Karbolyn is what you would use in place of your typical sugary sports drink. Carbohydrates are your body’s preferred energy source, and Karbolyn is a carb specifically designed to pass through the stomach very quickly (quicker than sugar, like those contained in sports drinks) so it’s ideal for consumption during an endurance training session. Another plus is that it doesn’t cause stomach cramping or bloating, like eating food during exercise would. For a typical weightlifting workout, I’d suggest taking it before and after the workout. However, if the exercise is going to be an over an hour, you will need fuel during your training session. One last plus here, and I don’t mean to be redundant, but it tastes really, really, REALLY good! I mean, like candy!!

Stick ‘em in a shaker cup and shake ‘em up! Sorry, that was so cheesy, because it’s so easy. I can’t seem to stop myself! Fear not—I have no current plans on becoming a rapper.
