Shakes go psychologically hand-in-hand with weight loss and good health—they are akin to the rocket fuel of the diet world.
I’m not sure why, but an educated guess would be: 1) you aren’t chewing, so you got to skip the first step in the digestive process yet you become miraculously full, making them seem more scientific; and 2) the ingredients are perfectly measured. Measuring calories is the key to success with diet goals; and 3) convenience–consuming a shake is faster than eating, which is perfect for busy on-the-go people.
Shakes fit the time constraints of the person who doesn’t have time to learn all the ins and outs of diet science, do extensive food prep, go food shopping every three days, do all of the dishes, etc. You can drink a shake even easier than hitting the nearest coffee shop and buying a 9,000 calorie Mocha Frappe Cappuccino Ameritalianico, and they are every bit as yummy!
Here is a convenient peaches & cream shake for your schedule, your health, and your taste buds.
Peaches are low in calories and are a low glycemic index fruit that contains calcium, a ton of potassium, magnesium, iron, manganese, phosphorous, zinc, copper, selenium, vitamin A & lots of vitamin C (394%!), and fiber with no sodium. They are lightly diuretic and also have phenolic compounds in them that can help with metabolic syndrome by reducing inflammation and the oxidation of bad cholesterol. This shake can power you through the day without a sugar spike and crash that some other fruit may give you. If you are looking to increase your potassium intake, this shake contains a whopping 648 mg!
