We all hear about the fantastic benefits of berries; that they can do this and that for your health. So, why not include them all in a shake? Kinda like an umbrella policy for your body. Not only do they contain fiber, but they contain a whole host of phytochemicals, anthocyanins, and bioflavonoids that do everything from helping fight Parkinson’s disease to managing diabetes. Humans as a species have evolved to eat these. Some call berries “Super Foods” but I call them “Nature’s Candy”, designed by nature to taste good so we eat them.

Blueberries can strengthen muscle, nervous, and regulatory systems. Recent research has been pointing to the chemicals in blueberries protecting memory function. They also contain a lot of vitamins K, manganese, vitamin C, and fiber.

Raspberries contain raspberry ketones that can increase the metabolism and help metabolize fat by reducing the fat-digesting enzyme released by the pancreas. So they increase fat burning and decrease fat absorption! They also contain vitamin C, manganese, vitamin K, and Fiber.

Just 8 medium strawberries have more vitamin C than an orange! Just like other berries, they protect your heart, increase good HDL cholesterol, lower your blood pressure, and guard against cancer. At the risk of sounding redundant, they also have a lot of manganese, potassium, and fiber.

Ingredients:

  • 1 scoop EFX Sports vanilla Pure Whey
  • 6 medium strawberries
  • 9 blueberries
  • 6 raspberries
  • ¾ tray of ice
  • ¾ cup of water
  • 1 tsp chia seeds
  • A few packets of monk fruit and/or stevia sweetener

Directions:

Put half of the water in the blender followed by the whey protein, the sweeteners, the berries, the ice, and the rest of the water. This order will make for the best blending so none of the powder gets stuck in the bottom of the blender. Blend until smooth and sprinkle chia seeds on top!
